The Name Servers of a domain show the DNS servers that deal with its DNS records. The IP address of the web site (A record), the mail server that handles the emails for a domain name (MX records), any text record in free form (TXT record), forwarding (CNAME record) etc are obtained from the DNS servers of the hosting provider and for any domain address to be using them and to be directed to their hosting platform, it needs to have their name servers, or NS records. If you wish to open a site, for instance, and you enter the URL, the web browser connects to a DNS server, which keeps the NS records for the domain address and the request is then forwarded to the DNS servers of the webhosting provider where the A record of the website is obtained, so that you can look at the content from the right location. Ordinarily a domain has 2 name servers that start with NS or DNS as a prefix and the contrast between the two is just visual.

NS Records in Shared Hosting

When you use a Linux shared hosting from our company and you add a new domain address in the account or transfer an existing one from a different provider, you'll be able to manage its NS records easily using the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with all shared accounts. You'll be able to change the current name servers or enter additional ones for a single domain address or even for a number of domains at the same time with several mouse clicks. This is done using the feature-rich Domain Manager tool which is a part of Hepsia and the user-friendly interface will make it easy to handle your domain name even if it is the first one you've ever registered. It requires simply a click to see what name servers a domain uses at the moment or if they're the correct ones to direct a domain address to the hosting space on our end and with only a few clicks more you are going to even be able to register private name servers for each of the domains that you own. For the latter option you can use the IP addresses of each and every company that you want the new NS records to direct to.

NS Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The name servers for any domain name which is registered through us may be changed with no more than a few clicks from the advanced, although easy-to-use Hepsia CP that is included with all semi-dedicated server plans. It's just as easy to view the current NS records for a given domain address and to check if they are the ones that are required for the domain to be directed to your hosting account. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, is user-friendly enough to allow you to control any domain name with ease even if you have not dealt with such matters before. If you wish, you may even register private name servers ns1.your-domain.com and ns2.your-domain.com and use them not just for the domain address under which they are created, but also for any other domain address that you'd like to host inside the same account. This feature is very handy if you have customers of your own and you want their web sites to use your own name servers instead of our default ones. The service is available absolutely free.
