Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Established in 2001, the .NAME generic top-level domain extension is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domain names can be personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other titles people are popular by. At first, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to obtain john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already grabbed 3rd-level domains remained working.

You will be able to alter the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer key from the current domain service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been done. There are no special prerequisites on who can register a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the objective behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
